It’s Super Bowl Sunday! All is on the line today as the New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52. The Patriots are the clear favorites but I’m going to tell you why you can’t count out the Eagles.
The Eagles had an incredible regular season even with the unfortunate injury to QB Carson Wentz. The thing you should be looking out for however is the Eagles defense.
Led by Fletcher Cox at DT and Malcom Jenkins at FS, the Eagles defense has been a problem for opposing offenses all season long. The pass rush is something to be feared which has been a problem for Tom Brady in the past.
In both 2007 and 2011 when the Giants defeated the Patriots the New York pass rush gave Brady fits. He wasn’t able to settle into the pocket and was under duress for much of the game.
So be on the lookout for the Eagles pass rush to get after Brady early and often if they want any chance of winning. –Jackson Hayes
